Sleek and Minimal

Roller shades, solar shades and sheer roller shades; the design of any roller is simply an aluminum tube wrapped with certain fabric in specific degrees of openness in a range of colors choices. Dual layers are also available. In the closed position, the effects of sunlight, glare and heat are minimized. In the open position, a total view is maximized, with little window space taken up by the shade. Motorized options are called electric shades or motorized shades, and can be integrated with any home system.

When speaking of window blinds, the valance is the piece mounted at the top of a window treatment. Valances conceal drapery hardware, blinds or architectural flaws and are commonly used in more traditional decor to add layers and soften the decor. Valances are not to be confused with cornices that are usually structured from wood. All of the wood and fauxwood blinds offered by The Blind King come with valances.

An Inside Mount for a window treatment is simply when the blinds are installed inside the window frame. As a result, the window treatment remains entirely within the frame, exposing this framing all the way around your window. Inside mounting will provide a more defined, completed and neat appearance. Moreover, with windows that have a deeper sill, you have the option to mount the blinds well inside and still maintain the sill itself for objects such as plants or decorations.

An Outside Mount, on the other hand, is installed outside of the window casement. For older homes without much depth in the sill, this is the best option.  This type of installation completely covers the window frame, but can be extremely helpful in situations where your trim is undesirable, or you’re looking for the best light blocking option.

The Blind King offers several brands to choose from, including award-winning Performance Faux Wood™ and Normandy® premium wood blinds by Norman Window Fashions. These blinds coordinate seamlessly with our full line of shutters, creating an opportunity for you to blend shutters and blinds in the same room, joining rooms or even in opposite sides of your house, without sacrificing design.
